The Stepparent Survey

© Dr. Nodrick 2014

What is the Stepparent Survey? The Stepparent Survey (SPS) is an online inventory that assesses your stepfamily across a total of 15 areas that are important for the development, functioning and stability your stepfamily. Hundreds of other stepparents have completed it, so we can evaluate the information you provide on the SPS against a really solid base of information provided by other stepfamilies.

How do I complete it? Click on the link below. It will take you to the start of the survey. Answer each of the questions as indicated. When you have finished the last question, hit the “send” button to forward your answers to The Stepfamily Foundation of Alberta.

Should my partner and I complete the SPS together? No. We prefer that you each complete the SPS independently, because the differences between your answers will help us to understand your family and circumstances much better.

How long will it take? Most people are able to complete the SPS within 30 to 45 minutes.

Please note: To receive a report of your results, you will need to book a consultation with one of our stepfamily specialists. They will review your answers and provide you with any thoughts, comments and suggestions they feel would be of help for your stepfamily.

You are welcome to complete the SPS even if you do not wish to book a session with one of our specialists to receive a review of your results. Any such results received will be (anonymously) added to the SPS database and used to compile an automated online interpretation that, in the very near future, will be immediately available to anyone completing the SPS on this site.
